Joyce “Tillie” Mitchell pleaded guilty this morning to helping convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat escape from Clinton Correctional Facility last month.

According to the Associated Press, Mitchell, who worked at the prison’s tailor shop, admitted smuggling hacksaw blades, a punch tool, a screwdriver, and chisels into the prison and giving them to Matt. She pleaded guilty to first-degree promoting prison contraband and fourth-degree criminal facilitation, and faces a sentence of 26 months to seven years.

Matt and Sweat escaped Clinton on June 6 and spent the next three weeks on the run. Matt was gunned down on June 25 and died the next day; Sweat was shot and captured two days later, ending the longest manhunt in New York History.

Mitchell, who was arrested in June 12, also reportedly planned to serve as the duos getaway driver but later changed her mind while eating Chinese food with her probably cuckolded husband.
