Like Donald Trump Was Ever Going to Pass Up the Chance to Be on TV
Never one to pass up a televised appearance, Donald Trump announced this week he’ll still do the CNN debate, even if they don’t pay him $5 million for the privilege.
Trump made the $5 million demand during a campaign rally Monday and was met with deafening... silence. So he’s back to making noise: If they won’t pay him, he’ll go on TV for free, no big deal.
“When you’re leading in the polls, I think it’s too big of a risk not to do the debate,” Trump told a Washington Post reporter “over a plate of eggs at his clubhouse overlooking the Potomac River” yesterday. “I don’t think I have the kind of leverage I’d like to have in a deal and I don’t want to take the chance of hurting my campaign. So I’ll do the debate.”
Brave.
