Maine Governor: President Obama "Hates White People"
Loudmouth Maine Governor Paul LePage told a crowd gathered at a GOP fundraiser last week that President Obama "hates white people," according to two state lawmakers who where there.
The Portland Press Herald reports that LePage said he initially had high hopes for the biracial president, only to discover that Obama detests whites. LePage's comments come in spite of the fact, of course, that Obama was raised largely by white people, is half white himself, and has talked extensively about the lessons his white mother and white grandparents bestowed upon him throughout his life:
Each [source] said LePage talked about how Obama could have been the best president ever if he highlighted his biracial heritage. But, LePage said, the president hasn’t done that because he hates white people.
"Yeah, he said it," said one lawmaker. "It was one little thing from a speech, but I think most people there thought it was totally inappropriate."
Two other lawmakers interviewed by the Herald claim they didn't hear LePage call Obama a racist. But of the two who say they did hear LePage's comment, one said he was tired of being asked to explain and defend the governor's frequent obnoxiousness. LePage has previously said that the NAACP can "kiss [his] butt" and compared the IRS to the Gestapo.
