Mom Says Son Couldn't Have Shot Little Kids 'Because He's Gay'
The mother of a man accused of being involved in the Wilkes-Barre apartment complex shooting that left two little girls critically wounded told reporters it wasn't possible that her son committed the crime because he's gay, and "gay people don't shoot kids."
"Certain men don't shoot kids," the unidentified mother continued.
Jevaun D. Brown, 24, and Taleek T. Sistrunk, 21, also of Wilkes-Barre, were arrested along with Trevor Whitaker, 26, of Brooklyn, on August 24th while fleeing the scene of the shooting at the Sherman Hills apartment complex.
Two women were also detained by police.
The three men were initially charged with simple assault in connection with an unrelated fight that took place at the complex that same day, but investigators later concluded that there was sufficient evidence to tie the trio to the shooting that resulted in two girls, ages 2 and 5, being rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
