A movie theater chain famous for its strict no-texting policy has declared Madonna persona non grata after she reportedly ruined the New York Film Festival premiere of Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave for several filmgoers by texting nonstop during the screening, and barking at a woman who politely asked her to stop.

According to film critic Charles Taylor, a former student witnessed the woman next to her tap Madonna on the shoulder and request that she kindly put her Blackberry away, only to have the lace-gloved multimillionaire hiss back: "It's for business... ENSLAVER!"

In response to the spectacle, Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League announced on Twitter that Madonna was henceforth banned from his chain's facilities until such time as she "apologies to movie fans."

League later told Entertainment Weekly he was "serious" about enforcing the ban, "but I don't think it really affects her life that much."

Back in 2011, Alamo made headlines after turning the voicemail of an angry customer who was booted from the theater for texting into an anti-texting PSA:
