Obama Tries to Distract From Benghazi by Capturing Benghazi Suspect
Not content to let truth-minded conservatives do their job, the White House made a wild attempt to pre-empt congressional scrutiny of its Benghazi failures by catching one of the architects of the Benghazi attack in a daring nighttime raid.
U.S. Special Operations forces captured one of the suspected ringleaders of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in a secret raid in Libya over the weekend, the first time one of the accused perpetrators of the 2012 assault has been apprehended, according to U.S. officials.
The officials said Ahmed Abu Khattala was captured near Benghazi by American troops, working alongside the FBI, following months of planning, and was now in U.S. custody "in a secure location outside Libya." The officials said there were no casualties in the operation, and that all U.S. personnel involved have safely left Libya.
The Post conceded it had known about the successful raid to nab Khattala on Monday but delayed a story about it, because the liberal media is clearly eager to bury Obama's national security failures.
The administration's nakedly political move to deflect criticism over Benghazi by bringing the Benghazi attackers to justice appeared to be paying dividends, with even firebrand conservatives acknowledging Khattala's arrest despite the fact that they had not seen him, or his birth certificate, in U.S. custody:

Glad we nabbed a #Benghazi suspect, but the timing is questionable. Did they let him wander, waiting for the perfect political opportunity?

Of course, not even Obama's penchant for obfuscation with splashy headlines could dull the pain for the real victims of Benghazi, right-wing think tanks who likely will now scrap their plans for more video-recorded anti-Muslim panels and move on to more pressing issues for the American people, like reinvading Iraq and making it harder to vote.
