Michigan man Dan Maurer thought he had hit a dead end when his scrotum started to balloon in his late 20's (you young men take note: this could still happen to you). While he lost weight, per doctors' orders, his sac swelled. It now weighs about 100 lbs. Maurer didn't know what to do, and then he turned on TLC.

He saw the network's now-classic 1-hour doc The Man with the 132-lb. Scrotum and his life changed. "That's when I found out that's what I have," Maurer told WZZM. The special chronicled the removal of Wesley Warren Jr.'s giant scrotum, which was caused by a condition called scrotal lymphedema.

And so, through the power of exploitative reality TV, Maurer found hope. And so it goes: each one (owner of a giant scrotum) teach one (owner of a giant scrotum). Maurer is now raising money to pay for a procedure that would remove his scrotal growth. His GoFundMe is here. He is looking to raise $20,000.

Warren, by the way, died earlier this year, though his death was attributed to his diabetes and heart attacks. His scrotum and its removal supposedly played no role.
