A Philadelphia police officer has been suspended after pulling over a driver and threatening to impound his car unless he and his friend purchased tickets to a police benefit. The men in the car caught the shakedown on video, along with the officer dropping some casual homophobic slurs before he let them go.

“Either you buy these or I take your car, ‘cause it’s unregistered,” officer Matthew Zagursky says in the video.

After successfully selling the men three $10 tickets to the Hero Thrill Show, a fundraiser that helps pay college tuition for the children of cops and firefighters killed in the line of duty, Zagursky makes a crack about the driver’s “faggot-ass” pink windshield wipers.

“Can’t you support breast cancer in another way? You look like a fruitcake, you know?”

Someone who goes by “Rob Stay Faded,” apparently the driver, uploaded the video to Facebook, where it went viral and made its way back to the Philadelphia Police Department.

“No part of that video is good,” Commissioner Charles Ramsey said Saturday, “He used the tickets as a lever to not do his duty; that’s extortion.”

Zagursky “has been pulled from North Philly’s 24th District and placed on administrative duty as the Internal Affairs Bureau investigates the video,” Philly.com reports.
