Last night, as protesters gathered in Minneapolis following the police killing of an unarmed black man, not even the son of a U.S. congressman could avoid the cops’ aggressive show of force in response.

According to activist Wintana Melekin and Al Jazeera America, the photo above shows Jeremiah Ellison, son of U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, holding is hands in the air as a police officer points a rifle of some kind toward him. Ellison was one of a group of protesters who congregated outside a Minneapolis police precinct near where a man named Jamar Clark was killed by officers on Sunday.

Some protesters were throwing rocks and bricks at officers, according to police, but Jeremiah Ellison does not appear to be armed, with rubble or otherwise. The elder Ellison, who formally requested Attorney General Loretta Lynch to investigate Clark’s death earlier this week, was understandably horrified by the picture.

According to police, Jamar Clark was an assault suspect, and interfered with the paramedics who were treating the alleged victim before police shot and killed him.. Some activists believe Clark was handcuffed before the shooting, Al Jazeera reports.

Minneapolis police released the names of the officers involved—Mark Ringgenberg and Dustin Schwarze—this week, and both a state agency and the FBI are conducting investigations into Clark’s death. The AP reported that authorities have several videos of the shooting, but will not release them until the investigation is completed.
