Feds Raid Subway Jared's Home in Child Porn Investigation
According to local NBC affiliate WTHR News, Jared Fogle, the cherubic face of Subway, is currently waiting with investigators while federal agents raid his Indiana home for child pornography.
According to local Fox affiliate FOX 59, the raid began on his Zionsville home around 6:30 a.m., led by FBI investigators and Indiana State Police officers. Reporters on the scene say an evidence truck is parked in the driveway.
The raid appears to be part of a long-term investigation—in April cops arrested Russell Taylor, the executive director of Fogle’s The Jared Foundation, for child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and voyeurism. Investigators say they found as many as 500 images in his home.
Fogle said at the time that the foundation had severed all ties with Russell, who reportedly tried unsuccessfully to commit suicide in jail.
It’s also not the first time Fogle’s name has been associated with pornography—according to a 2007 VH1 report, he ran a porn business out of his college dorm room.
Well, it turns out in college, the All-American Jared was known for something entirely different. According to our source, while studying at Indiana University, Fogle ran a very successful pornography rental company out of his bedroom. His porn collection was vast and extensive, and Fogle took his business pretty seriously. A video would run a patron a dollar a day (cheap!), and people would come from all over to take advantage of the deal. Needless to say, Jared had enough porn to keep his customers happy
At the time, Subway told TMZ “the company had no knowledge of the story.”
UPDATE 5:36 pm: Subway and Fogle “have mutually agreed to suspend their relationships,” according to a statement from the sandwich chain.
