Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old accused of killing nine people in a Charleston, S.C. church last night, has reportedly been arrested in Shelby, North Carolina.

UPDATE 12:02 pm: CNN reports that Roof was armed with a handgun at the time of his arrest.

UPDATE 11:57 am: Roof was arrested after a citizen called police to report a suspicious vehicle, according to police. Roof was “cooperative” during his arrest.

UPDATE 11:42 am: Charleston police chief Gregory Mullen and the FBI have also confirmed Roof’s arrest. Roof was arrested during a traffic stop in Shelby, N.C., according to Mullen.

UPDATE 11:36 am: Attorney General Loretta Lynch has confirmed that a suspect is in custody.
