Rich People Apparently Dumb
If it's summertime, and you have a net worth that is at least seven figures, that means it's time for JPMorgan's suggested summer reading list—the books that they tell their wealthy clients to pretend to read this summer. The wealthy, their bankers apparently believe, are dumb.
Don't take our biased word for it: Robert Frank at CNBC has the complete suggested reading list. Keep in mind that this list is painstakingly assembled by an exclusive upper crust bank for the benefit of its wealthy private banking clients. Sample suggested summer reading for the masters of the universe:
- "Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder," by Arianna Huffington.
- "Talk Like TED: The 9 Public-Speaking Secrets of the World's Top Minds," by Carmine Gallo.
- "Things a Little Bird Told Me: Confessions of the Creative Mind," by [Twitter founder] Biz Stone.
- "Olives, Lemon & Za'atar: The Best Middle Eastern Home Cooking," by Rawia Bishara.
There's also a book by an astronaut!
"Capital in the Twenty First Century" did not make the list, for some reason.
