Happy Birthday

Socialite Fabiola Beracasa turns 33 today, a fact she'd undoubtedly rather not be reminded of. (Just do your best to age gracefully, Fab; your mom, Veronica, should not be your role model.) Also celebrating: Petra Nemcova turns 29, the number she'll probably be sticking to for many years to come. Former Governor George Pataki is 63. Newspaper editor and author Pete Hamill is 73. Beyonce's little sister, Solange, turns 22. Actress Sherry Stringfield is 41. And avant-garde dessert maestro Will Goldfarb will be 33 today.

Frances McDormand turns 51 today. Hope Joel got you something nice, Fran. Also celebrating today: Met artistic director and legendary conductor James Levine turns 65. Real estate mogul Jerry Speyer is 68. Singer Jason Mraz is 31. Selma Blair turns 36. And skincare aficionado Nicholas Perricone is 60, although what with all the firming mists and wrinkle creams he uses on an hourly basis, he doesn't look a day over 57 or 58.

Blogger Boy Needs You For Girlfriend's Brooklyn Birthday

Richard Lawson · 06/16/08 02:38PM

Our friend-in-blogging Ryan, who, with his girlfriend, created and maintained the wonderful, now-defunct LOLSecretz, needs our help. You see, said girlfriend has moved from her beloved Greenpoint, Brooklyn to the wilds of Connecticut and misses the gray city and its Morlock inhabitants dearly. So, for her birthday, Ryan has placed a life-sized cut out of her on a street corner in Greenpoint and asks that friends and strangers pose for a photo with "her," and send it in. That way she can feel like she had a big ol' party with friends (...and complete strangers...) in fair Greenpoint. Sounds crazy and sort of cute, right? Full details after the jump.

Happy Birthday!

Celebrating tomorrow: Donald Trump will turn 63, although with that rug on his head, he doesn't look a day over 62. CNN's Campbell Brown turns the big 4-0. Book editor Alice Mayhew will be 72. Hedge fund tycoon Stanley Druckenmiller will be 56. Restauranteur Phil Suarez turns 68. And veteran sportscaster Len Berman will be 62.

Happy Birthday Anderson Cooper!! :D

Pareene · 06/03/08 03:35PM

The most beautiful cable news anchor of all time ever is 41 years old today. Maybe his mom will come by the studio to sing to him? Or maybe mean Mrs. Clinton will ruin his party by making him report "news." Sigh. [HuffPo] (After the jump, we'll share some birthday wishes for Anderson from HuffPo commenters.)

"A Wendy's, Over and Over Again"

Richard Lawson · 05/30/08 03:31PM

As I spend this last day of being twenty-four staring down, with bleary eyes, the prospect of turning a quarter century old at midnight tonight, I'm finding solace in a few comforting things. Large, earthenware pots full of homemade wines, whole cigarette packs lit ablaze and smoked like pan flutes, and you, dear commenters, who make me chuckle. Yes, it may be an aged and weary chuckle that ominously shakes my frail, weathered body, but it's chuckling nonetheless. And for that I am grateful. I am especially grateful to six of you, who will be awarded with that most prestigious award, a Commie, after the jump. I remember when I won my first, lo those many months ago. Ah, to be young again.

Happy Birthday!

A year ago, Rudy Giuliani was celebrating his birthday—he'll be 64 today—with a whirlwind of fundraising events, including one on Staten Island hosted by none other than Vito Fossella. What a difference a year makes, huh? Giuliani will have to make do with a much quieter celebration tonight with Judy (Le Cirque perhaps?), and although Vito will undoubtedly be raising a glass (or six) this eve, it certainly won't be in Rudy's company.

In case you weren't invited to their parties over the long weekend, feel free to extend your belated birthday wishes today to Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain (52), socialite Annie Churchill (37), architect Bruce Fowle (71), who all celebrated birthdays yesterday. Turning a year older today: fashion designer Behnaz Sarafpour, who is turning 39, and Henry Kissinger, who will be blowing out 85 candles this evening.
