Yesterday in Nigeria’s Sambisa Forest near the Cameroon border, anti-Boko Haram forces doing a nightly patrol were met by one of the 219 girls who were taken from their school dormitories by the terrorist organization in 2014.

On Sunday, the Nigerian army announced it had destroyed several Boko Haram terrorist camps, rescuing 178 captives, the BBC reports.

The reported ceasefire between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram, the terrorist group still holding more than 200 girls captive, does not appear to be working out, as violence over the weekend put the possibility of the girls' return on even more tenuous ground.

Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai is in Nigeria this week to celebrate her 17th birthday with a very specific wish: to bring back the over 200 missing girls who were taken from their school by Boko Haram militants in April.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen have reportedly abducted 20 women from the village of Garkin Fulani, Nigeria, just miles away from the Chibok, where hundreds of girls were taken in April. The Nigerian Islamic militants forced the girls into their vehicles by gunpoint and also reportedly kidnapped three young men attempting to stop the abduction.

Barely a week after telling the press that the 276 abducted girls had been found, the Nigerian police force has banned related protests in the Nigerian capital. It has been nearly two months since the girls were abducted.

Air Marshal Alex Badeh spoke with demonstrators this afternoon in Abuja, Nigeria to confirm that the nearly 300 missing schoolgirls, who'd been abducted by Islamic extremists last month, have been located. However, Badeh remarked that the girls cannot be apprehended with force.
