Pareene · 01/25/10 11:02AMA Bit More Bad News for David Paterson
cityfile · 01/22/10 10:06AMVery little has gone right for Gov. David Paterson in recent weeks. Embarrassingly, his son was detained by the NYPD after he was spotted playing dice and found to be in possession of someone else's credit card; a week later, the Post reported he had an "intimate" lunch at a New Jersey steakhouse with a "sexy mom" woman who wasn't his wife, a charge he denied; and he's fallen far behind of Andrew Cuomo on the fundraising front—Cuomo has nearly five times as much cash in his coffers—which certainly doesn't bode well. Maybe it's time for the governor to pursue a new campaign strategy? It looks like he's going to get the chance to do so, whether he likes it or not: Tracy Sefl, Paterson's "most visible" campaign strategist and his chief spokesperson quit her job today. [NYP, NYT]

cityfile · 01/19/10 10:23AMPotential Senate candidate Harold Ford looked a little out of touch last week when he recounted his typical mode of transporation (a chauffered Town Car), usual breakfast spot (the Regency), favorite "hangout" (Graydon Carter's Waverly Inn), and namedropped some of the people he considers his close friends (like billionaire Ron Perelman).

cityfile · 01/15/10 01:48PMThe final tab is in for Mike Bloomberg's campaign for a third term as mayor. It cost him $108.3 million, or $185.10 for each of the 585,466 votes he received. That's a few million more than what Bloomberg had reported previously. And it's about $99 million more than what poor Bill Thompson spent to come within a mere five percentage points. [NYDN]
