Reese Witherspoon Romantic Comedy Has Alternate Endings to Hate

Louis Peitzman · 01/29/12 10:45AM

You'll have to wait until Valentine's Day to see This Means War, a romantic comedy in which Reese Witherspoon (along with the women and gay men in the audience) must choose between Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. I haven't seen the movie, so I can't fairly judge it — but I will, a little. Especially after an interview in which director McG admitted to shooting multiple endings in order to prevent people from finding out which hottie Witherspoon's character ends up with.

Prince William, Kate Heckled by French Canadians

Max Read · 07/04/11 10:09AM

Wills and Kate visit Canada, only to be shouted at. Paris Hilton and the director of The Hangover remind us why we never, ever want to go to an L.A. nightclub. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber play patty-cake. This is what the Founding Fathers fought for: Monday gossip.

What's Opening in Theaters Today

Richard Lawson · 11/12/10 05:47PM

Friday is the most exciting day, because it means drinking, yes, but also movies! What should you see? Well, there are twee indies, a commercial-sweet romantic comedy, and a thriller about an unstoppable train that will probably prove stoppable.

Richard Lawson · 08/26/10 02:20PM

Kyle Buchanan · 10/16/08 11:46AM

Yesterday, we spent time dissecting Entertainment Weekly's new cover devoted to the J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Trek, starring a Marfan's-afflicted Katie Holmes and the president of Pi Kapp. Today, even more images were released for the film, which comes out next summer but is being heavily promoted now, in October, because the strike-wary studios have fuck-all for you until next year. Let's have a look, shall we?

Is This Your New Spock From 'Star Trek,' Or a Melty-Faced Katie Holmes?

Kyle Buchanan · 10/15/08 04:22PM

Today, Entertainment Weekly released images from its upcoming issue devoted to J.J. Abrams's reboot of Star Trek, and featured on the cover were the two clearest looks yet at Zachary Quinto as Spock and Chris Pine as Kirk (what, were Tyler Perry and Winona Ryder busy?). Heroes star Quinto has seemed like a natural to don Leonard Nimoy's ears ever since the casting was announced, but we must admit that this cover gave us pause. Is it the amped-up drag queen eyebrows? Or is it that Quinto, with his severe bob and vacant expression, resembles a Marfan's-afflicted Katie Holmes? Let's do a side-by-side:
