Actor Joshua Jackson (Pacey in Dawson's Creek) hosted his own convention outside Comic Con in San Diego yesterday. Pacey Con 2010 included Jackson reading Dawson's Creek fan fiction, autograph signing and, presumably, making out. (picture by some messageboard or other.)

Between the crazies in costumes, celebrities hawking sci-fi projects, and journalists covering both, someone will surely capture every awkward interaction at San Diego's Comic-Con, which kicked off yesterday.

Tina Fey tries in vain to turn embarrassing Will Ferrell into dashing Brad Pitt. Just like when they were on Saturday Night Live together, it doesn't work.

I doubt that any Comic-Con attendees/cosplayers/nerds could be genuinely excited with the hijacking of their blessed event by this humiliating 'Hoff parade promoting his new reality show. Who told him he could turn personal embarrassment into success? Why oh why?

Sal Masekela sat down with The Destroyer Of Words, Seth "Galactus" Rogen, during the Daily Ten's coverage of Comic-Con Thursday. Interestingly, Rogen is promoting The Green Hornet at SDCC for the second year in a row.

It's finally happened: A guy wearing a Darth Vader costume robbed a bank in New York. A mask: cape, chest-piece, everything. What's most amazing is that this didn't happen at Comic-Con.

It's true. He did it. Or he will do it. Also today: a nerd documentary to end all nerd documentaries, Scream 4 will feature a vampire, a link to a picture, and a Peter Scolari joke.

This feature length cartoon, created in celebration of the TMNT's 25th anniversary, premiered at last year's San Diego Comic Con, and has dealt with many disputes. It's currently not even on DVD, but the entire movie is here!

Disney sent representatives and stars to last month's Comic-Con, but apparently the company isn't content with collective marketing, because they're launching their own event, the D23 Expo.

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are struggling, men are turning against Megan Fox, Bar Refaeli is boning a "Brazilian playboy" named Ricardo, Kid Rock hates Twitter, Marilyn Manson issues threats and Kate Beckinsale parties with Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham.

• After two very unsuccessful years as co-chairman of NBC Entertainment, Ben Silverman is finally leaving the company. He's teaming up with Barry Diller's IAC to start some sort of vague media/advertising firm. He'll be replaced by Jeff Gaspin, who headed up NBC's cable unit until now. [NYT, NYT, DF]

Why bother going to San Diego for Comic-Con when you can just sit in your living room and read all the good coverage of it! Now, when you talk to your nerdy sci-fi friends, you won't look like an idiot.

They like sci-fi! They wear costumes! They play with light sabers! They saw The X-Files movie in the theater! Yes, every year people freak out when they found out that Comic-Con is full of freaks.

With the hazy, nut-hugging memory of Comic-Con thankfully behind it, the world has begun to take stock of the actual news that came out of San Diego last weekend. But perhaps the biggest story broke today as an erstwhile fanboy overcame his quivering long enough to capture this preview of The Wolfman, Benicio Del Toro's riff on the hairy horror classic. The (mildly spoiling) touchstones are all there for a hit in the making: tortured brooder Del Toro slashing top-hatted limeys; Anthony Hopkins's furrowed, torch-lit brow; Hugo Weaving getting out of a carriage; Emily Blunt in soft-focus peril; and surprisingly grisly flashes of the title character's prey. Seriously, this looks pretty good (the movie, not the video) but don't get us wrong — it's no Red Sonja. Really, though, what is? Judge for yourself after the jump. [TrailerAddict via /Film]

· Chew-chew-chew, ha-ha-ha. The new teaser trailer for the Michael Bay produced Friday The 13th remake debuted at Comic-Con over the weekend. As with most bootleg footage, it's often out of focus, but how much focus do you really need to see Jason Voorhees slash his way through Camp Crystal Lake for the umpteenth time? [YouTube] · Whatever happened to Abel Ferrara? Good question. [Time Out London via MCN] · Heavily-hyped documentary (in the loosest sense of the word) American Teen fell surprisingly flat in its debut this weekend ($8,565/screen). Meanwhile, the phenomenal Man On Wire pulled in over $24K per screen in super-limited release. [Variety] · Miley Cyrus told Marc Malkin that "we're thinking this is our last season [of Hannah Montana]." And by we, she apparently didn't mean Disney — they shot back a quick response to his piece saying that the ball is in their court, not Miley's. [E! Online]

Just in from Comic-Con!Buffy/Firefly/Dr. Horrible creator Joss Whedon discusses how he's trying to ensure that his upcoming Fox show Dollhouse enjoys a long, happy life on TV, unlike Firefly-which met an early demise for no good reason. Also in this clip, Battlestar Galactica/Dollhouse co-star Tahmoh Penikett, and a surprise appearance by Adam Baldwin, who Whedon blames for the downfall of Firefly.
