On the Late Show With David Letterman last night, Katie Couric told the story of how Michael Jackson asked her out on a date in 2000 (two years after her husband died), using Rabbi Shmuley Boteach as a go-between.

David Letterman and Sarah Palin haven't had the kindest relationship, as he made a joke about her daughter and statutory rape (whoops) and she called for him to more or less be fired. He sent her off last night.

Diddy or Sean Combs or whatever was one of Letterman's guests last night and he shared an interesting story about a time when Michael Jackson showed up unannounced at one of his famed White Parties.

Tracy Morgan brought his own unique brand of lunacy to Letterman's show last night, where he spoke at length on what he plans to do to avoid the "Whitney Houston syndrome" in the event he wins an Emmy this year.

John Michael Higgins isn't a household name, but you've probably seen him acting in Christopher Guest films and/or as Wayne Jarvis on Arrested Development. He also portrayed Letterman in The Late Shift, something he says Letterman still hates him for.

Until tonight, we'd no idea that David Letterman was so painfully ignorant about Twitter. He thinks it's something people have to pay for! So Kevin Spacey pulled out his Blackberry and attempted to explain it all to him.

America's infamous capricious sprite, Sarah Palin, is still out there "advancing in another direction." Today she saw a bear, a transformative experience which inspired her leviathan intellect to ponder the lessons she learned from it, lessons she shared on Twitter.

Earlier in the week Sacha Baron Cohen shockingly appeared out of character on Letterman's show. Tonight he returned in character as "Bruno" to read the Top Ten—"Top Ten Reasons to See The New Movie Brüno."

Not that we minded, because the real guy is pretty charming and a great raconteur, but it was just curious because in the past the comedian, currently promoting Brüno, has been so committed to in-character appearances.

Yesterday we published the best and worst press release of all time from Charmaine Blake, "the most famous publicist," while she was on a date with Cliff Clavin. Now we've received an email from her "friend" claiming we've been "deceived."

Danny DeVito was a guest on Letterman's show last night and Letterman took the opportunity to ask DeVito about his most recent episode of public drunkenness.

A controversy erupted Thursday afternoon when Politico reported that Olive Garden was pulling its Late Show advertising in the wake of the controversy over Letterman's Palin jokes. Olive Garden then denied this. Regardless, the "Fire Letterman" crowd wants more blood.

The Olive Garden has pulled its ads—or maybe not!—from rapes-with-his-mouth David Letterman's late-night show about impregnating 14-year-old girls. Why would they do that? Because the PUMA crowd threatened a boycott. Of course. Wait, remember them?
