BP's formerly-leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico has been permanently sealed, with cement, 4 million barrels and six months after the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, killing 11 workers. (The well hasn't leaked since July.) Remember that?

Oh dear. Cincinnati police have released cellphone video of a 21-year-old mother coaching her two-year-old daughter to smoke what appears to be a joint. The tape was sent to Family Services by a concerned person who witnessed the incident.

An enormous explosion just rocked San Bruno, California, a suburb just above San Francisco International Airport. Like, really big: A whole block is on fire with 200-foot flames. Six people are in critical condition. What the hell is going on?
