At least half a dozen raging wildfires spread through San Diego county today in what one observer is calling "a scene from Armageddon."

The American Magazine Conference in New York was briefly evacuated yesterday after a noxious smell filled the conference room. Turns out it was just a copy of National Review.

Update:The package was apparently a "novelty grenade," and police say it's all clear.

Lazy Congressmen don't even return from summer vacation until tomorrow, but somebody's already pretending to kill them. The Capitol was evacuated today after a powder was discovered on the House floor. It wasn't toxic, however; probably just some staffer's blow.

The British Museum has been evacuated because of people complaining of "eye and throat irritation"
