Hamilton Nolan · 05/27/09 09:03AMIf you don't follow the denim industry closely you could be forgiven for thinking that world has gone crazy. Levi's, the Americanest jeans you can possibly buy without a flag sewn on them somewhere, is publicly endorsing gay marriage. The gays have literally wrapped themselves around George W. Bush's butt!
California Supreme Court Upholds Gay Marriage Ban
John Cook · 05/26/09 12:36PMThe California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8, meaning that gay people still can't get married there. But the 18,000 couples who were hitched between last May (when the court ruled to legalize gay marriage) and November (when "progressive" California voters said same-sex marriage is icky) can stay married.

cityfile · 04/20/09 11:01AMRudy Giuliani has been waging war on gay marriage in recent days, part of a plan to firm up support with the Republican base in advance of a possible run for governor. This means he will probably not be attending the wedding of Howard Koeppel and Mark Hsaio—the couple that graciously provided Rudy with a place to crash folowing his split with Donna Hanover in 2001— who report today that they plan to tie the knot in Connecticut on May 2. Although the ex-mayor once promised the couple that he'd marry them himself if gay marriage ever became legal in New York, he now claims marriage "should remain between a man and woman." Or, in Rudy's case, a man and three different women, including his second cousin once removed. [NYP]

cityfile · 04/14/09 09:02AMGov. David Paterson will announce plans to introduce legislation to legalize same-sex marriage at a press conference on Thursday morning, reports the Times. It's probably not a good idea to go out and buy a fabulous new tux just yet, though. Stiff opposition in Albany is expected and "it could take months—even longer—before the bill makes its way through the appropriate committees and onto the floor of the Senate and the Assembly." [NYT]
