cityfile · 06/19/09 01:56PM

No one's uterus gets quite as much attention as the one attached to Gisele Bundchen, which is why you've probably seen about a thousand tabloid stories about her being pregnant—or not being pregnant—over the past few months. Us Weekly is wading back into it this afternoon, reporting that "multiple sources" have confirmed that the supe and husband Tom Brady are expecting their first child together. Could this be the one? Pattinson To the Pavement

cityfile · 06/18/09 11:49AM

Twilight star Robert Pattinson was hit by a taxi in front of the Strand on Broadway today, supposedly as he attempted to flee a group of hysterical fans: "A team of five security guards were trying to fend off a crowd of teenaged girls when Rob was leaving the bookstore. It was pouring rain as they tried to hustle him quickly across the busy street to the safety of his trailer. Some of the teen girls were hysterical and Rob rushed across the road. As he did so, a taxi grazed him." Got that? It grazed him. So he's fine. Please pass that message along to your 16-year-old cousin, okay? Thanks. [RadarOnline/National Enquirer]

Crazy Caper in Ohio; Madonna Gets Ready For Mercy

cityfile · 06/18/09 06:10AM

• This is a bizarre one: Two police chiefs in Ohio are now under investigation for allegedly breaking into the home of the surrogate mom hired by Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick in an effort to dig up dirt on the woman, which they then planned to sell to the tabloids or use to blackmail the couple. [Us, E!, NYDN]

Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other." Naturally, the decision to part ways had nothing at all to do with the rumors that Lee's been dating designer Yigal Azrouël. They've been doing a very good job keeping that one under wraps, clearly. Royal Rumors, Another Split for Lohan and Ronson

cityfile · 06/17/09 06:20AM

• Here's a rather unlikely rumor but an amusing one all the same: Prince William is supposedly thinking of moving to America with his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, and the two have been spotted house-hunting in Malibu. Frankly, if they were going to move to America—and they're probably not—we see them as more of a New York couple. And NYC could use a prince roaming around, couldn't it? Let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best. [E!]

The Daily News Plugs a Hole

cityfile · 06/16/09 11:15AM

The New York Daily News dismissed gossip writer Sean Evans last Friday. The paper has yet to name a replacement to head up the Gatecrasher column with Laura Schreffler, and from the looks of things, the recruitment process isn't going very smoothly. Filling in for the week is "swag hag" Sarah Polonsky, the former National Enquirer reporter who worked very briefly at Page Six in late 2006, but was fired for running afoul of the paper's ban on accepting freebies. (Most recently, she's headed up a website called Cellofame.com.) Guard your gift bags, publicists! Polonsky's email below.

Science Proves What Cindy Adams Has Known For a Century

cityfile · 06/15/09 01:36PM

Gossip is good for you. Or at least that was the conclusion of a study conducted at the University of Michigan, which aired up 160 women and had half of them proofread a botany paper and the other half dish about their personal lives. Twenty minutes later, the chatty Cathys had increased levels of progesterone, which is linked to "long term physical health and has anti-stress effects," whereas the women stuck talking about plants had decreased levels. So, basically, oversharing with strangers is good for your health. Debating Petunias, not so much. Of course, the more interesting study would examine the potenially salubrious effects of reading about other people's personal lives. Look for that study, sponsored by Us Weekly, E!, and Perez Hilton, in the coming months. [NYDN]

And she's already moved on to someone new, namely soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. [P6, People]

After tussling with Brant's bodyguards last week, Seymour was issued a summons on Saturday after she "yanked the keys out of a Brant-hired security guard's car, threw them in the bushes, and then used her Range Rover to block the driveway of the couple's Greenwich estate." Just imagine what's going to happen when the two actually face one another in court. [NYP]
• Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson appear to have reunited. Enjoy it while it lasts!
