While Ice Age: Continental Drift didn't do quite as well as previous installments — I guess 20th Century Fox overestimated the star power of Nicki Minaj — it still topped the box office this weekend, earning $46 million.

A group of Japanese scientists claim that now that they've figured out how to extract DNA from frozen cells, they can clone a living woolly mammoth in four years. That's faster than we'll see the next Ice Age sequel.

Its the last weekend of summer — a time for Hollywood to scratch their heads in amazement that they fell for it again.
