Gawker Welcomes the Guardian Staff to Soho

Brian Moylan · 11/17/11 01:14PM

Last night Gawker founder Nick Denton hosted a little soiree at his Soho pad to welcome the American staff of the Guardian who recently moved their office to the neighborhood. And what is a party without a photo booth and a few boldfaced media names? We didn't save you any tea sandwiches, but you can at least enjoy the pictures.

Tinsley Mortimer, Meet Your Dream Dates

Richard Lawson · 01/29/10 03:40PM

Flirt Alert! Tinsley Mortimer, the bubbly blonde socialite of our dreams, is single and ready to mingle. She was spotted at Sundance looking for a man, which is pretty desperate. So we thought we'd help her find The One.

Finally, the Models Catch a Break

The Cajun Boy · 07/16/09 08:43PM

Life sucks. Everyone knows this. Of course, life sucks most for the models. All those castings and photo shoots and cocaine-fueled orgies and whatnot! How do they do it?! Well, things are finally looking up, thanks to the "Model Lounge."

Reluctance and Distaste at The Webutante Ball

Foster Kamer · 06/06/09 03:00PM

Last night, the country's media-tech-social scene collided in something called The Webutante Ball. Instead of forging an alternate universe in a Big Bang-esque explosion, it thankfully existed for one evening atop the Empire Hotel. We braved it for you.

Justin Rocket Silverman

Sheila · 10/20/08 02:18PM

Last week we re-introduced Gawker Pin-Ups, in which we scour the web (and your Facebook pages) for hottt photos of people in (or vaguely around) media. Who did you want to see shirtless? Requests for the New York Post's Justin Rocket Silverman were basically overwhelming, because he is one of the few straight men in media. So here he is! We have no idea what exactly he's doing in the following photos, nor do we care. Ladies, his Myspace profile says he's 31, single, and straight. He's even modeled for Mens' Health! Justin, if you play these fifteen minutes of blog-fame right, you could definitely get lucky by the weekend.

Journalists Stuck On Airplane, Chaos Ensues

Richard Lawson · 06/16/08 10:03AM

Our intrepid video fella Richard Blakeley was on a plane full of journalists headed to a Thrillist press event in Las Vegas over the weekend when disaster struck. Due to the crazypants thunderstorms barreling through the region, the plane had to make an unscheduled stop in Rochester, NY. Naturally Blakeley whipped out his camera and filmed the madness, capturing a veritable who's who of journalist types, from the Post's Justin Rocket Silverman, to Julia Allison from Star magazine (hiding coyly from the camera), to The Huffington Post's Rachel Sklar, as they coped with the ordeal. The most important thing we can learn from this video? I'mInLikeWithYou.com's Charles Forman pees sitting down. Clip is above.

Justin Rocket Silverman's Mustache: A Cautionary Tale

Pareene · 04/01/08 04:49PM

Justin Rocket Silverman, once crowned by Gawker as "basically, the only cute straight guy at blogmedia parties," decided to film a funny video for the New York Post about growing a mustache. He had his mustache shaved at something called "Xac Anthony Salon and Spa, though, which sort of defeats the ironic symbol of seedy blue-collar masculinity aspect. It's called a barbershop, Justin! Also it's called "something you should only do because you think it's funny once, while mildly intoxicated," but whatever. We just gave up on shaving altogether, it's simpler. Clip below, in odd and bulky New York Post clip player.
