This painful video is going around today as a story about a teacher who lost his job after accidentally bashing a student in the nuts with the flat side of an axe during a classroom demonstration. But according to someone who was there, it was actually the teacher with his sack on—or rather, just a little too close to—the chopping block.

The student seen here filming the debacle told Reddit:

He was just fine - it was a graze - not a full on partitioning. The person holding the axe is a member of staff (either an assistant principal or a hall monitor) that we asked to come help with the demonstration.

The teacher walked funny for like a couple of days and then he was just fine.

AP Physics I is fun because of stupid things like this happening.

So, there you have it: Despite appearances, the unfortunate axe swing got more jean than peen, and no one seems to have been fired over what could have been a truly tragic nutshot. The teacher is actually a hero who put his body on the line to teach high school students ... well, I'm not sure what, actually, but something.

Update: It was a lesson on force and area, the same student explained on Reddit. Specifically:

The concrete block is placed on a bed of sharp ass nails. The force is distributed across all the nails and thus the individual pressure from each nail is minuscule does not cause any damage to the teacher under the bed of nails.
