Nip/Tuck Creator Has More Stories To Tell
Audience response to the season finale of Nip/Tuck was so good that creator Ryan Murphy, who had one foot out the door to start a career in directing features, was suddenly filled with more stories:
"Because of the finale's ratings, I felt the show had room to grow, which is a rare thing, and I wanted to come back and be a part of that," Murphy said. "People loved that last episode so much that it made me think I did have more stories to tell."
What a breath of fresh air in a mercenary Hollywood culture! It's beautiful, really, thinking about how the fans wrapped their loving arms around Murphy like a fat grandma who hasn't seen the kids in a year and squeezed him until some new ideas oozed out.
News Corp.'s FX and Warner Bros. Television also agreed to invest more money into the show, which revolves around two self-involved plastic surgeons. Murphy will receive an undisclosed raise and will raise the salaries of the cast and crew.
Let's not spoil this moment with that filthy money talk. We're still thinking about grandma.
