Backstage at the Golden Globes, Brokeback Mountain's success, George Clooney's early win for Syriana, and an awards show press corp utterly unafraid to ask the most inane of hypothetical questions combined for this well-shaken nonsense cocktail:

But only minutes later, Clooney was amiable and charming, no matter what question was put to him, even when asked if he'd consider starring with Heath Ledger if there were to be a sequel to "Brokeback Mountain."

"Heath is awfully handsome, so probably," Clooney responded.

In the ensuing barrage of questions inspired by the original query, an overwhelmed Clooney inadvertently committed to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in a biopic about the young Liberace, replace Matthew Broderick in a prequel to The Producers, and direct a silent, black-and-white movie about the forbidden love affair of a gay unicorn and a closeted giraffe. The affable actor's schedule is now completely full through the summer of 2009.
