Yesterday was free Daily News day, courtesy of Washington Mutual. Today — as a tipster warned us — is apparently free Post day, courtesy of Fresh Direct. So far we've got two reports of Post giveaways at Union Square. Writes one tipster:
All around Union Square today (seemingly every five steps), hawkers are handing out free copies of the Post today, sponsored by FreshDirect. Makes you wonder if there wasn't a spy from the DN who found out about the Post's freebie deal and arranged to beat them by a day.
Let us know where else you're getting gratis Posts. And, even better, tell us if you know someone who wants to sponsor our Times. It's starting to seem unfair that we're stuck paying for it every day.
