Britney Spears' Ontological Musings
"Life in general is so surreal and crazy," writes Britney Spears in her latest homepage message to fans. Coincidentally, her letter in general is so surreal and crazy! In it, she tackles the Big Questions, like What is Truth, Who is God, and What's Up With Freeloaders? It's like what she would be thinking about if she was in college, minus all the "actually being informed by reading and stuff" parts.
On the nature of truth:
"It's so funny how many stories are put out there about people. It's like we all want our side of the story out there as well, but at the end of the day only a few people care to know what is really going on since the bad is so much more interesting than the truth ... we all want a certain image of ourselves out there, or else we wouldn't be here." Wise!
On her recovery:
"Recently I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don't think it was alcohol or depression. I was like a bad kid running around with ADD." Okay!
On her hangers-on:
"Being in that vulnerable state and being taken out to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later that you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me." One that you'd think someone who has been famous since puberty might have already learned, but still, all learning lessons are good.
On being and God:
"I guess we will never really understand or figure out life completely. That's God's job. I can't wait to meet him ... or her." Yay feminism!
