Murdoch Re-Lists, Julia Roberts Rents in the Village
• Rupert Murdoch's Centre Island estate is back on the market. The 11-bedroom Rosehearty mansion, which Murdoch and wife Wendi Deng pulled off the market last October, has been re-listed with Dolly Lenz for $12.8 million. The five-acre estate isn't sitting empty while the couple wait for a buyer, though: As Newsday first reported back in April—and as this week's New York confirms—Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are renting it for more than $100,000 a month. • Norman Reedus—the actor, model, and father of Helena Christensen's son Mingus—has paid $1.75 million for a two-bedroom loft in the Machinery Exchange building at 136 Baxter St. [Cityfile]
• Julia Roberts is renting two apartments at 1 Morton Square this summer while she's in NYC to film Eat, Pray, Love. She's reportedly paying a combined $50,000-a-month for the two pads, one of which is for her nanny and staff. [P6]
• Thomas Flexner, a former vice chairman at Bear Stearns, has gone into contract to sell his townhouse at 136 East 80th Street. The four-story manse, which Flexner listed with Kirk Henckels for $12 million last July and cut down to $8.95 million in February, went into contract at the end of May. [NYT, Stribling]
• Alec Baldwin is thinking about buying three 11th-floor apartments at the newly-renovated Apthorp, with plans to turn the condos into one 6,000-square-foot space. The three apartments are on the market for a combined $15.5 million, although Baldwin is said to be offering "considerably less." [NYT]
• Developer Craig Nassi has lowered the price of his 15-foot-wide townhouse at 155 Lexington Avenue. The 4,800-square-foot home, which Nassi bought last October and listed for $5.49 million in January, is now $4.6 million. [NYT, LJG]
