Financial scammer of epic proportions Bernie Madoff may be getting ready to plead guilty to his crimes. It looks like he's cutting a deal.

The U.S. Attorney's office indicated Friday in a brief court hearing that Mr. Madoff is ready to waive an indictment. Such language is used when plea deals are ready to happen.

Presumably Madoff would offer a full confession and—one would hope—help the government recover however much of people's money is left. And he'd better be going to jail for a long time, or we may just see the first Riot of the Rich. More info TK. [AP]
