Madoff Wants to Be Sprung from Jail
After spending just one night in jail, Bernie Madoff wants out. His lawyers will appeal the decision to revoke his bail while he waits to be sentenced for running a Ponzi scheme.
The New York Daily News says it will be a number of days before the Feds respond to his motion. After pleading guilty yesterday, Madoff is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16 when he'll face up to a 150-year sentence. It will be a few days until the Feds file their response, so there's no chance of Madoff going back to his 64th Street penthouse for the weekend.
