McDonald's Is Still Evil, But Also Now Petty
A waitress at a McDonald's in Holland sold a co-worker a hamburger. The co-worker then asked for a slice of cheese in addition. So McDonald's fired the waitress for failing to charge the full price for a cheeseburger.
The evil corporate drones, doubtless dressed as Ronald McDonald, argued in a court in Leeuwarden that she had broken the rules on giving free gifts to family, friends or collegues, report the BBC.
The court responded that a written warning would have been enough and ordered McDonald's to pay her $5900 for five months of her contract. In a triumph of comedic stating-the-obvious, they said: "the dismissal was too severe a measure. It is just a slice of cheese."
