16-Year-Old Starlet Sullies Nubile Young Lungs with Cigarette
Who gave Taylor Momsen the grown-up lollipop? A Jersey Shore guido plans his future at Harvard Law. Brittany Murphy's husband sues Warner Brothers for killing her. Charlie Sheen's ex checks into rehab—but why? Thursday's gossip round-up raises questions.
- 16-year-old Taylor Momsen was photographed smoking a big fat cigarette (as in, pretty sure it's a Camel Wide) on Gossip Girl's set, and it doesn't seem like it was for the show. So who broke the law and gave her a grown-up lollipop? Does Taylor have a fake I.D.? At first I thought it was a candy cig because none of the pictures show smoke, but maybe she just hasn't learned to inhale yet, because the look on her face [fig.1] is that patented teenage "I'm so badass CRAP do you think my mom saw?" look caused only by nicotine, Mike's Hard Lemon, and skipping class to kiss your boyfriend. Conclusion: Young lady, go to your room. [Celebitchy]
- Whereas Brad's new bachelor pad was once the Brangelina break-up smoking-gun, it's now "the newest piece of Brad's master plan to expand the sprawling compound he shares with Angelina." TMZ has pictures, but since I lack the frame of fabulous wealth necessary to evaluate whether this is a one-man pad, a family domicile, or a shed for storing the Pitt-Jolie lawn mower. [TMZ]
- Figuring, perhaps, that Brittany Murphy's death was too quiet and dignified, widower Simon Monjack says he's suing Warner Bros. The stress of being fired from Happy Feet II killed her, he says. Also, check out these pictures I took of her, you can buy them from me if you want. [Beast]
- Elton John and Lady Gaga are teaming up for a Grammy performance, says the rumor mill. I'm thinking diamond-encrusted Steinways, a herd of Shetland ponies, and nude belly dancers. [P6]
- Pauly D's deejay fee: Up to $25,000. Before Jersey Shore,it was $1000. [TMZ]
- Vinny has a different get-rich plan: Law school. He took the LSAT and "my score was decent." He wanted to go to "Yale or Harvard." What if he's actually a genius and it's all an act? [NYDN]
- Alleged Tiger Woods call girl Loredana Jolie weighs in on his sex addiction: "He would engage in sex from 9PM until the sun came up the next morning. But he wasn't a healthy guy. He couldn't sleep and would stay up all night." She says rehab will fail him, and though sex is admittedly Loredana's area of expertise, I find this pronouncement irritating, and may migrate to Team Tiger just to spite everyone betting against him. [P6]
- Speaking of rehab: Charlie Sheen wife/victim Brooke Mueller's stepdad says she's in a treatment center, but he won't say what she's rehabilitating from, just that it's not drugs. Maybe it's Charlie? Addicted to dangerous love? [Radar]
- Susan Boyle came back from recording a charity single for Haiti and there was an unidentified male in her home, which must have been ridiculously terrifying. Police responded, the man was retained, and then he was released. Stalker? Lover? Confused senile person? [Gatecrasher]
- John Edwards confirmed he and Elizabeth have separated. All he has to do now is confirm that he's a selfish jerk, and he'll be on the level, again. [TMZ]
- Will Ferrell's wife Viveca Paulin gave birth to a boy last week. His name is Axel, and he is the youngest of three. [NYDN]
