That's a good defense actually ... I use to work for a criminal defense attorney. Had a client that crashed his car and while waiting for the tow truck, went into the bar he crashed in front of & proceeded to drink shots. Police showed up around the time the tow truck did & popped him for DUI. When tested, his BAC was around .20. But, at trial, the prosecution couldn't prove what his blood alcohol level was at the time he was driving; thus, a not guilty verdict.
Well my thinking is - if people's lives go pear-shaped and they want to give it all away, can they please go off and top themselves quietly without risking the lives of innocent folk and their kiddies?
My soft spot for New Zealand just got softer. And yes, I know drunk driving is terrible, but I love alcohol-fueled Nihilism. I just love it.
So, basically the guy pulled a Betty Draper?
