Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: The Trailer Event of a Generation
Here is the trailer for the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is about wizards, and muggles, and psychosexual longing. This movie will make more money than you can even imagine. But will it be any good?
Ha, good! Are you kidding me?! This movie is the motion picture event of a generation (according to the trailer)! Sickening, petit-bourgeouis value judgments like "good" shrivel in the face of earth-shattering historical turning points like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will rock the very foundations of liberal capitalist democracy not once but twice, in November 2010 and July 2011. Sell your stocks! Stop taking your lithium! Study the signs! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Flickering Picture Show of an Epoch, is here, upon a white horse, and in righteousness it doth judge and make war.
Well anyway: It will probably be pretty entertaining. The last movie was a solid few hours of fun (and beautifully shot!), even if it didn't define my generation, or anything. And the kids have grown up so nicely! Whoever did that casting should win a Nobel or a Fields Medal or something; they could have been saddled with a Lipnicki. It will have a ton of great British character actors! And check out all the sweet special effects! Definitely, you should see this in 3D, if you are that kind of person.
Full disclosure: I have read all of the Harry Potter books, and enjoyed them, but I don't remember anything about this one, since I was skimming it for the sex scenes. So I am not totally positive what happens, but definitely Harry Potter casts a spell, or two, and then, I don't know. There's a dragon? Looks like there's a dragon, or something. And a train (possibly magic.) SPOILER: I'm pretty sure Harry defeats Voldemort.
