Notorious dingbat Sharron Angle, Harry Reid's Nevada Senate challenger, addressed a high school's Hispanic Student Union last week and proceeded fuck something up, right on schedule. Apparently some of the Hispanic kids looked "a little more Asian" to her. Huh?

The country's top Angle observer, Jon Ralston of the Las Vegas Sun, unearthed this latest gaffe that probably won't have any impact on the race, because few of her daily gaffes ever impact the race and because she's running against universally despised Sen. Harry Reid in a state where 70% of mortgages are underwater and everyone is sad and angry and starving. That said, this is still highly comical:

"So that's what we want is a secure and sovereign nation and, you know, I don't know that all of you are Latino. Some of you look a little more Asian to me. I don't know that. [Note: it's the Hispanic Student Union. The whole room is Hispanic teenagers.] What we know, what we know about ourselves is that we are a melting pot in this country. My grandchildren are evidence of that. I'm evidence of that. I've been called the first Asian legislator in our Nevada State Assembly."

Okay so that last line? That may be funnier than the thing about Hispanic Student Union students looking more Asian to her. What could she be babbling about? As Ralston notes, "That last comment, about her being called the first Asian legislator? I have no idea what she is talking about." Same here. She looks a little more Hispanic to us.
