Gun-totin' Texas governor Rick Perry is taking on the hippies in California with his brand of fast talkin', straight shootin' politics. He hopes to crush their dreams of a pollution-free utopian society by suing the Environmental Protection Agency.

Perry in the last nine months has had his Attorney General Greg Abbott file seven lawsuits against the EPA in an effort to counter California's progressive oppressive environmental laws. "At times, they're their own country," Bill Becker, executive director of the National Assn. of Clean Air Agencies said to the Los Angeles Times, when asked about Perry and his home state. Yeah, no shit! And they're not taking any shit from the oppressive U.S. government, because Texas can do just fine on its own, okay?

Perry talked a bunch of shit during his reelection victory speech last week, laying the groundwork for what will probably be an even bolder assault on climate change in the coming year: "People are tired of the government cooking up new ways to micromanage their lives. They're tired of the government killing jobs with their do-gooder policies that have nothing to do with science or economics." Damn straight, Rick. Instead of focusing on bullshit like the quality of the air we breathe, or the water we drink, let's focus on really important laws, like being able to carry guns everywhere!

It's going to be highly entertaining when this hick runs for president.
