The Daily Beast Has Stopped Editing Meghan McCain
Meghan McCain is the illiterate daughter of a ruined man, which makes her "column" for the Daily Beast something of a challenge for her editors. But by the looks of today's offering, they've given up.
Were you wondering what McCain thinks of Time magazine's choice of Mark Zuckerberg as Person of the Year? Meghan was! So she wrote it down in a note to herself on her Blackberry and e-mailed it to the Daily Beast for money.
Here is what Meghan McCain thinks of the choice:
1) Mark Zuckerberg is "year poignant."
I was one of the people on Time's panel to nominate and argue over who was most deserving of the title.... Everyone chose both interesting and year poignant candidates.
2) The country of Haiti is a person.
Other notable people that were discussed were Nancy Pelosi, Glenn Beck and the country of Haiti.
3) Meghan McCain does not know what "illusive" means (it means "illusory").
The "Person of the Year" is an illusive title that has historically showcased, for better or worse, the individual who has had the most distinctive impact on the previous year.
4) Mark Zuckerberg is a rabid anti-semite and union-buster.
I believe that Mark Zuckerberg is the Henry Ford of our times and Facebook is the Model-T.
And that is Meghan McCain's three-paragraph column for Thursday, December 16, 2010.
UPDATE: The Daily Beast suddenly got around to editing McCain again, correcting some of the errors we noted. So we threw up some screen grabs we took this morning to memorialize them.
