Overpriced NYC Swimming Pool Is Also a Toilet (Maybe)
The next time you feel like paying hundreds of dollars to swim with a bunch of hungover orange dudes on the roof of the Hotel Gansevoort, you might want to consider the implications. The Post ran some tests on six swimming pools across New York, and the Gansevoort came in last:
The hotel pool was the only one to test positive for coliform bacteria, which could indicate possible fecal contamination, and had the highest levels of "solids" — organic and mineral particles that shouldn't be there.
There was also a high nitrate count and high sodium level — possibly indicating some guests aren't just leaking celebrity gossip.
You're probably better off in the Gowanus Canal.
