Acquitted NYPD Rape Cop Gets Year in Prison for 'Misconduct'
Kenneth Moreno, the NYPD officer acquitted in May of charges that he raped a drunk woman in her West Village apartment, has been sentenced to a year in prison for "official misconduct." Not for rape, though.
The misconduct charges stem from the fact that Moreno and his partner repeatedly returned to this drunk woman's apartment over the course of a single evening with no good reason, even going so far as to make up a fake call to police to justify returning. Of course, Moreno only went back to counsel the woman and sing "Livin' on a Prayer." Not to rape her.
