Last week, we showed you this heartbreaking video from the WE DO Campaign, an effort to draw attention to the battle for marriage equality in North Carolina by having gay couples request—and get denied—marriage licenses from the state.

On Friday, two of the people featured in the original video—a lesbian couple that's been together for 30 years—submitted a second request for a marriage license. Except this time when they were turned away, the two women staged a sit-in and were quickly arrested.
