Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez may have missed President Obama by 3,000 or so miles when he allegedly shot at the White House residence last week, but no worry: He'll still be charged with attempting to assassinate the President or his staff.

You will not be surprised to learn that this charge comes with the possibility of some jail time. Specifically, life in prison. Even worse: A $250,000 fine!

Ortega-Hernandez, a suspected nutter, will be escorted from a federal court in Pittsburgh to Washington D.C., where he'll face trial. He will "remain in federal custody at least until a magistrate in Washington can determine if he should remain jailed until his trial on the charge." Sounds like a tough call for that magistrate.
