Is Mitt Romney the Republican presidential nominee yet? Well, not quite. Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press, Rick Santorum acknowledged that the Wisconsin primary will send a "strong signal" as to where the campaign is headed. Even so, a Santorum loss will not be enough for him to drop out — not when we're all having so much fun.

The former Pennsylvania senator dismisses the notion that a prolonged primary would harm the party's chances against President Barack Obama in November. Santorum says GOP establishment figures are making that argument to convince voters that "they need Mitt Romney shoved down their throats."

Santorum did add that he would need to win the Pennsylvania primary on April 24. Not that he would drop out otherwise — just that he would need to win.

Meanwhile, Romney, whose campaign has shifted its focus from attacking Santorum to attacking Obama, has begun looking for his running mate. Dare I suggest Rick Santorum?
