The National University in Singapore recently installed an odd Coca-Cola vending machine: instead of money, this machine takes hugs and gives out free Coke.

According to Coca-Cola spokesman Leonardo O'Grady, this is part of Coke's "Open Happiness" global marketing campaign.

Happiness is contagious. The Coca-Cola Hug Machine is a simple idea to spread some happiness.

And it's admittedly pretty cute to watch college students full-on embracing a vending machine.

On the other hand, the "vending machines have feelings, too" assertion sounds a little too Skynet for my tastes. How long until the "Hug Me" Coke machine becomes self-aware?
