Tonight Mitt Romney said that he doesn't agree with all of his supporters, but he still appreciates their help in his eventual victory. The elephant in the room is that one of his loudest (and richest) supporters, Donald Trump, is once again spouting his birther nonsense about President Obama.

Recently Trump again insisted that Obama was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia, despite the fact that Obama answered Trump's previous accusations with his long-form Hawaiian birth certificate. That was over a year ago, so it's possible Trump has forgotten. Or he may — like so many other conspiracy theorists — believe Obama's birth certificate is an elaborate con.

Either way, Romney refused to address that particular claim, nearly a day before he appears at a Trump-hosted fundraised in Las Vegas. Perhaps the vague acknowledgment that he doesn't agree with the opinions of everyone who supports him is enough of a rebuttal.
