After months of denial and equivocation, Johnny Depp's publicist today confirmed that the actor and his long-time partner Vanessa Paradis have "amicably separated."

"Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children," the rep told Entertainment Tonight.

The couple had been together for 14 years and share two children: 13-year-old Lily-Rose, and 9-year-old Jack.

Rumors of their split began circulating last year when the couple stopped making red carpet appearances together. In January, an insider told People magazine the couple "have already split." Depp denied the report, telling the Sun last month that the rumors were "absolutely not true."
