M. Night Shyamalan to Make Small Screen Debut with Pilot for Syfy
M. Night Shyamalan, the once-venerated auteur who has become a running joke in recent years, will be teaming up with Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer/producer Marti Noxon in the hopes of starting fresh with a scripted television series for Syfy.
The show, entitled Proof, will be co-written by Shyamalan and Noxon and directed by Shyamalan.
Little is known about the plot, except that it revolves around a "billionaire tech genius" who loses his parents in an accident and subsequently offers a reward for proof of the afterlife.
No word yet on when the pilot might air.
Meanwhile, M. Night Shyamalan next big-screen effort, the Will Smith vehicle After Earth, is expected to hit theaters June 7th, 2013.
