Romney Campaign Co-Chair: 'Timid' Obama Should Have Gotten Bin Laden Faster
Assuming for a moment that Obama had anything to do with killing Bin Laden — and that this wasn't all part of an Al Qaeda plan, as Rush Limbaugh theorized — he really should have done it sooner.
In an interview with the New York Times, former New Hampshire Governor and Romney campaign co-chair John Sununu calls out Obama for being "timid" and not "decisive."
The president is trying to take credit for following the strategy and the tactics put into place by George W. Bush. At some point the president is going to have to explain why he was timid on the first two or three opportunities that we had. Thank goodness Hillary Clinton was there was to convince him to do the right thing. ... His trying to take credit for having been decisive belies the fact that he wasn't decisive until pressed by others.
Yes, it was the unlikely team-up of George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton that got the job done. Now what criticism will the other side level against Hillary if she runs in 2016?
Meanwhile, former defense secretary Robert Gates, who served under President Bush before Obama, previously called Obama's decision "gutsy" and difficult.
But seriously, what took Obama so long?
