Bill Clinton Only Sent Two Emails as President
Are you still waiting on your personalized email from President Bill Clinton thanking you for your donation to his campaign? Unless you're a maverick of space exploration or prevented a major war from escalating, that email isn't coming.
Today the Democrats' Ronald Reagan made a surprise address at the Wired for Change conference and acknowledged why you haven't gotten an email from BubbaClinton@WhiteHouse.gov in your circa 1993 AOL email account.
I sent a grand total of two emails as president, one to our troops in the Adriatic, and one to John Glenn when he was 77 years old in outer space.
So don't worry, Bill totally appreciates your support. He even wrote a sax solo to thank you, it's just that SoundCloud wasn't around in 1998.
But the question remains, what authority does someone who sent two emails in eight years have to talk about technology? Fortunately, President Clinton had a sense of humor about that, and his troubled relationship with the Congress that eventually impeached him. Explaining why he only sent two emails, he had this to say:
I figured it was OK if Congress subpoenaed those [emails].
So considering it was half of his email correspondance in eight years, you'd think his email to John Glenn would be pretty genius. Here it is, as published in this book:
